About TakumiPen

TakumiPen is a software application that simplifies and automates the work of filling in residence forms: it asks you basic contextual questions and places your answers onto the forms the Agency publishes, so you complete your own documents with far less of the typing and far less confusion. Further, it offers direct access to a community of licensed professionals whose membership is completely voluntary — they sign themselves up to reach the applicant community. This software does not advise, file, or represent anyone, and it gives no professional preference over another in how they are listed or reached.

What this platform is, the services offered on it, and the company that operates it.

The platform

TakumiPen is an online document builder for Japan's residence procedures. It asks about your situation in plain questions, binds each fact to a single answer, and renders those answers onto the Immigration Services Agency's own published forms — the Agency's layout, not a reconstruction of it.

It is built for two audiences. Couples and individuals preparing their own application, who need the forms filled correctly and an honest account of how long it takes. And licensed professionals — 行政書士 (certified administrative procedures specialists) and lawyers — who prepare these bundles for clients and want the drafting done once, consistently, with their own client list attached to it.

What it produces is a draft you carry forward yourself. It does not file, does not represent anyone, and does not decide anything. Specifics sets out exactly what it does and does not do, and who actually decides the outcome of a case.

What is offered

The Document Builder. The interview and the forms it fills. Facts are asked once and reused everywhere they appear, so the application form and the questionnaire cannot disagree with each other — which is the most common reason a bundle is handed back. Every character is checked against the actual glyph coverage of the embedded fonts before a document is written, because a font that silently lacks a glyph prints a blank box on a government form.

A checked timeline. What happens when, laid against a scale of days, with the Agency's own measured processing figures rather than the range quoted in guides. Where a figure is not published, the page says so instead of estimating.

Reference material. A glossary, a document catalogue, office locations, and a guide, each citing the government source it came from. All of it is open without an account.

Review by a licensed professional, if you ask for it. A case can be offered to professionals whose registration has been checked by hand. They can decline, accept, or ask for more before deciding. Nothing is handed over until an engagement is entered into by both sides.

For professionals: a client list, and an introduction you can send. A verified professional gets a reference code and a one-page introduction carrying their own name, branding and registration. They pass it to their own clients through their own channels; clients who enter the code appear on their list. TakumiPen does not email anyone on a professional's behalf.

Pricing for each tier is set out on the Pricing page, and what the software does and refuses to do is listed on Features.

What the builder produces

Your answers are written onto the Agency's own published forms. Nothing is redrawn and nothing is filed for you.

Document Source What it is
在留資格認定証明書交付申請書
Application for a certificate of eligibility
The Agency's own form The application itself, parts 1 to 3.
身元保証書
Letter of guarantee
The Agency's own form The guarantor's statement of support. Their name is left blank; the form requires it handwritten.
質問書
Questionnaire
The Agency's own form The account of the relationship, in the couple's own words. Never translated for you.
Answer summary Produced from your answers Every answer on one printable sheet, to check against your own papers before anything is filed.

Three fields are always left blank because the forms require them in the applicant's own hand: the guarantor's name, your signature, and the date of preparation.

Procedures covered

Each has its own interview and its own timeline.

What this is not

This is document preparation software. It does not give legal advice, does not represent anybody before the Agency, does not file anything, and cannot tell you whether an application will succeed. Where a matter needs a qualified person, the directory lists them and the engagement is yours to make.
